After care information - Unique Blendz

AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Following the correct after care is extremely important to ensure you get the best possible healed results.

FEATHER TOUCH BROW COSMETIC TATTOO
  1. Please wipe brows with damp cotton round every 30 minutes for the first 2 hours post-treatment. After each wipe, please apply the tiniest bit of aftercare cream to the area. In 2 hours you will wipe them 4 times. This is to remove any excess lymph, that if left there can cause scabbing.

  2. Do not wet your eyebrows for 10 days.

  3. Do not apply makeup on your brows for 10 days. You are welcome to wear facial make up, as long as this kept well clear of your eyebrows.

  4. Avoid sweating for 10 days.

  5. Apply an after-care balm for 7 days. This must be applied 2 x per day (morning & night) using a clean cotton tip, or if advised otherwise. (only a very thin layer is needed.)

  6. Please stay out of direct sunlight & saunas while the brows are healing.

  7. Please avoid getting any facial treatments until brows are healed.

IMPORTANT NOTES ON WHAT IS NORMAL TO EXPECT

– If there is any swelling or redness this will go down in the first 24-48 hours.

– You may feel a slight tight feeling over and around the tattooed area and it can feel a little tender in the first 1-4 days.

– A slight crusting may occur in the first 5-7 days. This is normal. Let any scale naturally fall off. Do NOT pick. Some pigment may come off with it. There will be no scabbing however, the top layer naturally flakes off.

– Colour healing is generally a 3-week cycle.

       – Week 1: They will be darker & sharper than usual.

       – Week 2: Brows can look quite dull & patchy; even to the point you think   the pigment is gone.

       – Week 3: Pigment starts to come back out in the skin and you will be ready for your touch up.

– It is normal in some cases for some hair strokes to fade out or brows to become patchy– this is why there is a 2nd touch up appointment to assess the retention & complete the treatment.

– Please be aware, in some rare cases, clients may require a third touch up appointment, dependent on skin or if aftercare is not followed correctly. This is priced as an additional touch up.

– Colour intensity can be extreme for the first week. This will fade 50% as the healing process occurs.

FACTORS THAT CAN AFFECT THE LONGEVITY OF YOUR COSMETIC TATTOO

1. Exposure to sun, salt water, chlorine and chemicals (put sunscreen on your tattoo)

2. Sun can cause fading over time.

3. Products containing Glycol Acid and Rentin A  must be kept completely away from the tattoo as continued use could lighten colours.

4. If you have oilier skin than normal, the longevity of the pigment can be less as the oil pushes the pigment out the skin.

5. Lighter pigments will fade faster then dark coloured pigments.

6. Smoking can cause the cosmetic tattoo to fade faster.
