EYEBROW COSMETIC TATTOO TREATMENTS

Following the below Pre-Procedural Rules is VITAL when commencing any cosmetic tattoo treatment. If you do not adhere to these rules, you will not receive the best possible healed results, risk implications, treatments being canceled, or additional costs incurred if you require further touch-ups.

The following rules MUST be followed 1 day (24 hours) prior to your appointment.

  • No Alcohol / drugs (narcotics)

  • No Caffeine inc. energy drinks, coffee, tea, pre workout stimulants

  • No Exercise

  • No Aspirin, Ibuprofen – read the ingredients in your pain killers to check before taking

  • Avoid spices that can thin the blood eg. cinnamon, turmeric, chilli

  • Your face must be clean of fake tan.

  • *If there are any pimples/sores where the procedure is to be performed, Katelan must be notified immediately as your appointment will postponed for a future date once blemishes have cleared. If you have a mole in your brow, please note that we cannot tattoo overtop of this

The following rules MUST be followed & the below must be avoided 7 days prior to your appointment.

*Before ceasing the use of any medications, if prescribed from your GP, please contact them prior to discuss.

  • Fish oil supplements

  • Vitamin E

  • All blood thinners (let us know if you are on any medications you are unsure about)

  • Facials/peels

  • Facial waxing/ Brow tinting

The following rules MUST be followed & the below must be avoided 2 weeks prior to your appointment.

  • Please discontinue use of all face products/creams containing retinol & glycolic acid

  • Heavy Sun exposure to the face. (A sunburnt face will increase blood flow & will in turn increase bleeding during your treatment which will cause the cosmetic tattoo to not retain well.

  • Solarium tanning

  • Botox / any cosmetic injectables around brows.

The following rules MUST be followed & the below must be avoided 4-6 weeks prior to your appointment.

  • Brow Growth Serums. This can increase bleeding & sensitivity.

OTHER KEY POINTS TO CONSIDER.

  1. It is advised to wash your hair the day of your appointment to make the aftercare rules easier to follow.

  2. It is a great idea to also have some make-up wipes to help clean your face after the treatment & cotton tips at home to apply the after-care cream.

  3. Katelan can only pluck on the day of your appointment, so it is suggested that if you have quite ‘bushy’ eyebrows to get them waxed 1 week prior to simply clean them up.

  4. Please just wear your normal daily make-up to your appointment. You are welcome to come with your brows how you normally pencil them if you wish to show Katelan how you like to wear them. If you don’t wear any make-up normally, you don’t have to wear makeup to your appointment.

  5. Eyebrow Cosmetic Tattoo is a multi-session process. You are required to come back for one touch-up visit before it can be determined that the work is complete.

  6. Pigment may fade after the first initial visit. It is in the touch appointment that your treatment will be assessed in terms of pigment retention and a touch-up will be made. It is not until your touch-up appointment that your treatment will be deemed complete.

  7. Numbing agents will be used before and during all procedures. Client comfort is essential.

  8. All appointments receive a thorough consultation where design, pigment colours & any concerns or questions may be asked.

  9. You will be provided with thorough after care instructions & aftercare cream on the day of your appointment,

  10. If you are pregnant please advise Katelan immediately as treatment will need to be postponed.

  11. If you have already had your eyebrows cosmetically tattooed by a different technician, please advise Katelan PRIOR to booking for approval as she will ask for a photo of the brow to see pigment retention and colour.

  12. Be prepared for the colour intensity of your procedure to be significantly larger, sharper, brighter & darker than what is expected for the final outcome. It will take time for this transition, based on how quickly the outer layer of your skin exfoliates.

  13. Eyebrow tattooing is very unique. There is no ‘stencil’ or ‘template fits all’ design. I will always listen to you and what you personally like and take into consideration your facial structure. A design on an 18 year old girls face won’t always suit the design for women who are middle-aged and vice versa! I believe a good cosmetic tattoo should go unnoticed! Your current eyebrow shape and direction of hair always comes into play when designing your new brow! The less maintenance the better.

OTHER POINTS TO CONSIDER.

  1. If you are having any lip procedures done and have a history of Cold Sores or Herpes Simplex please contact your doctor for relevant prescription to ensure no outbreaks occur. Coldsores or blisters will  effect the healing process. Previous clients have purchased a tablet called Valtrex. This can be purchased over the counter at any local chemist and girls have taken 3 x Valtrex tablets the day prior to their appointment & 3 the day after. Along side these tablets I also would advise to get L-lysine tablets and start to take at least 1 week prior and continue 2 weeks after treatment to help keep any cold sores at bay. If you have any concerns please consult your local GP for advice.

  2. Please be aware that the colour of your lips will be significantly brighter for the first 5-7 days. Colour will fade approximately 50% upon healing.

  3. There may be slight swelling of the lips for the first 24-48hrs.

  5. It takes approximately 6 weeks for the final healed result of the lips to be complete.
