IF YOU ARE PRONE TO COLDSORES YOU MUST FOLLOW THE BELOW;
If you get cold sores less than once a year, please purchase a set of oral tablets from your pharmacy called Famvir which must be taken on the day of your treatment.
If you get a cold sore more than once a year, you must see your local GP and ask for a prescription for a preventative coldsore medication called Valtrex. This is taken orally a few days leading up to the treatment date & a few days post-treatment. This is a stronger medication than Famvir & will minimise the risk of an outbreak.
During the treatment, ‘trauma’ is caused to the lips therefore an outbreak is highly likely to occur if you suffer already from cold sores. If you have an outbreak during healing, it can affect the result as it will in most cases remove pigment from the area.
If you arrive at your appointment without taking the preventative medications, treatment will be postponed & deposit will be forfeited.
The following rules MUST be followed 1 day (24 hours) prior to your appointment.
No Alcohol / drugs (narcotics)
No Caffeine inc. energy drinks, coffee, tea, pre workout stimulants (this will cause excess bleeding which WILL effect your healed results & will be very hard for colour to implant & retain.
No Exercise
No Aspirin, Ibuprofen – read the ingredients in your pain killers to check before taking
Ensure you keep hydrated with water & keep lips moisturised heavily prior to your appointment. It’s important that your lips are not dry/cracked or peeling or treatment can not go ahead. If your lips are very dry, please use a Lip Scrub (you can purchase my a local chemist to exfoliate the dryness away).
*If there are any pimples/cold sores where the procedure is to be performed, Katelan must be notified immediately as your appointment will postponed for a future date once blemishes have cleared. If you have a mole in your brow, please note that we cannot tattoo overtop of this.

OTHER POINTS TO CONSIDER.
Please be aware that the color of your lips will be significantly brighter for the first 3-5 days. Color will fade approximately 50% upon healing.
There may be slight swelling of the lips for the first 24-48hrs.
Lip dryness may occur during the first 3-5 days as they heal. After care cream will be provided to keep them moisturised.
It takes approximately 6 weeks for the final healed result of the lips to be complete.
You will be required to come back for another treatment in 6-8 weeks after the initial appointment to finalize the work. The second treatment is $150 (not complimentary).
Please make yourself aware of all Aftercare Rules prior to your appointment.
Please be aware, in some rare cases, clients may require a third touch up appointment, dependent on skin or if aftercare is not followed correctly. This is priced as an additional touch up.
If you are pregnant, please advise Katelan immediately as treatment will need to be postponed.
If you are breastfeeding, & wish to have a treatment, you are required to 'pump & dump' 48 hours post procedure due to the anesthetics in the milk. We advise speaking with your GP first before making an informed decision. Topical Numbing agents are used with Lignocaine 10% & Epinephrine .05%.
Pigment may fade after the first initial visit. It is in the touch appointment that your treatment will be assessed in terms of pigment retention and a touch up will be made. It is not until your touch up appointment that your treatment will be deemed complete.
Healed Results vary from client to client. The healed result is dependent on skin type, environmental factors, after-care, skin care routine, hormones etc. Please remember, treatments are cosmetic & are an art – not a science.
