Cosmetic tattooing (also known as micropigmentation or semi-permanent makeup) involves implanting pigment into the skin using a specialised machine or hand tool.
Unlike body tattoo ink, cosmetic pigments are designed to fade gradually over time, allowing results to evolve naturally.
Yes, and this is intentional.
Cosmetic tattoo pigments fade gradually due to:
This allows results to be refreshed and adjusted over time.

Many clients refresh every 12–18 months.
Pigments are selected using advanced colour theory, undertone analysis and your natural brow hair colour.
Colours are chosen for healed results, not how they look on the day.
Lip blush restores colour, balance and definition while maintaining a natural appearance.
It does not add volume like filler but can create the illusion of fuller, healthier lips.
Lip colours are selected using:
You’re welcome to bring a favourite lipstick or balm for inspiration.
On average 2–4+ years, depending on:
Healing takes around 5–6 days:
Day 1–2: Colour appears bold and vibrant & occasionally there might be slight swelling.
Day 3–4: Light flaking/dryness as the top layer starts to flake off.
Day 5-6: The bright top layer has now disappeared & colour looks soft & much lighter.
Weeks 4–6: Colour settles into the lip & colour starts to brighten again.
A touch-up is recommended once healing is complete. See aftercare instructions.
Preventative medication is required prior to treatment. Detailed instructions will be emailed to you once your booking is secured.
If medication isn’t taken, treatment will be postponed and the deposit forfeited.
I recommend having lip filler first to restore volume and hydration. Once the filler has fully settled, lip tattooing can be performed to refine shape, enhance symmetry and add colour. A minimum waiting period of 4 weeks post-filler is required before tattooing to ensure the lips are fully healed.
A minimum waiting period of 4 weeks post-filler is required before tattooing to ensure the lips are fully healed.
This depends on your desired outcome. Lip filler adds volume and projection, while lip tattooing restores lost colour, enhances shape and can create the illusion of fuller lips.
Filler is a higher ongoing investment, typically requiring maintenance every 6 months, whereas lip tattooing lasts 1–3+ years, with optional colour boost treatments every few years.
For many clients, tattooing is a more cost-effective way to enhance the lips long term. You’re welcome to send through a photo for assessment, and I can guide you on the best option based on your goals.
