Hi, I’m Katelan.
Award-winning PMU Artist, Founder of Unique Blendz and head trainer of The Academy.
Over the last decade, I’ve invested heavily in my cosmetic tattoo education, trained with world-renowned artists, worked on high-profile clients and built a fully booked, trusted cosmetic tattoo business from the ground up.
The Academy exists because I know how overwhelming this industry can feel, and how powerful the right education is when it’s grounded in real experience, not hype.
Everything taught here reflects how I work day-to-day in the studio: skin-first, intentional, and designed for long-term results.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is the online training accredited?
Training in the cosmetic tattoo industry is not government-accredited, as formal RTO accreditation is not required to educate or certify artists.
In-person training includes hands-on assessment and certificates of completion.
Online education is designed for ongoing learning, refinement and professional development.
Who is the online training best suited for?
Online training is ideal for artists who:
- Already hold foundational PMU training.
- Want to improve healed results and retention.
- Feel stuck repeating the same mistakes.
- Want clarity around skin behaviour and pigment response.
- Prefer learning at their own pace.
- Choosing the right needles and tools for better results.
- Wish to troubleshoot their pain points for more effective work
It’s especially helpful if you’ve been working for a while but want your results to level up.
Can beginners learn from your online training?
Yes, with the right expectations.
Online education can be valuable for beginners alongside accredited training, but it does not replace in-person education or certification.
If you’re brand new and unsure where to start, I recommend booking a discovery call to discuss whether online learning, in-person training, or a combination is the best fit.
What’s included in the Digital Vault?
The Digital Vault is a growing library of:
- In-depth theory breakdowns.
- Skin behaviour and healing analysis.
- Technique refinement guidance.
- Problem-solving scenarios.
- Real-world insights from my treatment room.
Are they just technique videos?
No. This isn’t step-by-step, “copy what I do” education.
Online training focuses on why techniques work, why they fail, and how to adapt them based on skin type, age, texture and healing patterns.
It’s education that improves judgment, not just execution.
How long do I have access to the online content?
Your access details will be clearly outlined at the time of purchase.
Most artists return to the content multiple times as their skills, clientele and confidence evolve.
Will I get direct support or feedback?
Online training is primarily self-paced education.
If you’re looking for personalised feedback, live models and direct mentoring, in-person training is the most suitable option.
Can online training replace in-person education?
No, and it’s not designed to.
Training in the cosmetic tattoo industry is not government-accredited, as formal RTO accreditation is not required to educate or certify artists.
In-person training includes hands-on assessment and certificates of completion.
Online education is designed for ongoing learning, refinement and professional development.
I’m not sure if online or in-person training is right for me. What should I do?
That’s completely normal.
If you’re unsure, I recommend starting with a discovery call so we can talk through your experience, goals and the most effective next step for you.
