Following the below Pre-Procedural Rules is VITAL when commencing any cosmetic tattoo treatment. If you do not adhere to these rules, you will not receive the best possible healed results, risk implications, treatments being canceled, or additional costs incurred if you require further touch-ups.
NUMBING GUIDELINES
The law has changed for numbing agents and you now need to purchase your own liquid anaesthetic numbing agent & apply prior to your cosmetic tattoo appointment. Once your treatment is booked our team will contact you via email with all information required to know & how to purchase.
The following rules MUST be followed 1 day (24 hours) prior to your appointment.
No Alcohol / drugs (narcotics)
No Caffeine inc. energy drinks, coffee, tea, pre workout stimulants (this can cause excess bleeding during the treatment which WILL effect your healed result.
No Exercise
No Aspirin, Ibuprofen – read the ingredients in your pain killers to check before taking
Your face must be clean of fake tan.
*If there are any pimples/sores where the procedure is to be performed, Katelan must be notified immediately as your appointment will postponed for a future date once blemishes have cleared. If you have a mole in your brow, please note that we cannot tattoo overtop of this.
The following rules MUST be followed & the below must be avoided 7 days prior to your appointment.
*Before ceasing the use of any medications, if prescribed from your GP, please contact them prior to discuss.
Fish oil supplements

All blood thinners (let us know if you are on any medications you are unsure about)

Facial waxing/ Brow tinting
The following rules MUST be followed & the below must be avoided 2 weeks prior to your appointment.
Please discontinue use of all face products/creams containing retinol & glycolic acid
Heavy Sun exposure to the face. (A sunburnt face will increase blood flow & will in turn increase bleeding during your treatment which WILL cause the cosmetic tattoo to not retain well.
Solarium tanning
Botox / any cosmetic injectables around brows. (Allow 2 weeks either side of your treatment date)
The following rules MUST be followed & the below must be avoided 4-6 weeks prior to your appointment.
Brow Growth Serums. This can increase bleeding & sensitivity.
OTHER KEY POINTS TO CONSIDER.
It is advised to wash your hair the day of your appointment to make the aftercare rules easier to follow.
It is a great idea to also have some make-up wipes to help clean your face after the treatment & cotton tips at home to apply the after-care cream.
Katelan can only pluck on the day of your appointment, so it is suggested that if you have quite ‘bushy’ eyebrows to get them waxed 1 week prior to simply clean them up.
Your are welcome to wear make up to your appointment but please keep it very minimal as from the eyes up your skin will need to be cleaned. You are welcome to come with your brows how you normally pencil them if you wish to show Katelan how you like to wear them. If you don’t wear any make-up normally, you don’t have to wear makeup to your appointment.
Eyebrow Cosmetic Tattoo is a multi-session process. You are required to come back for one touch-up visit before it can be determined that the work is complete.
Pigment may fade after the first initial visit. It is in the touch appointment that your treatment will be assessed in terms of pigment retention and a touch-up will be made. It is not until your touch-up appointment that your treatment will be deemed complete.
Numbing agents will be used before and during all procedures. Client comfort is essential.
All appointments receive a thorough consultation where design, pigment colours & any concerns or questions may be asked.
You will be provided with thorough after care instructions & a Complimentary Aftercare Pack on the day of your appointment.
If you are pregnant please advise Katelan immediately as treatment will need to be postponed.
If you have already had your eyebrows cosmetically tattooed by a different technician, please advise Katelan PRIOR to booking for approval as she will ask for a photo of the brow to see pigment retention and colour.
Be prepared for the colour intensity of your procedure to be significantly larger, sharper, brighter & darker than what is expected for the final outcome. It will take time for this transition, based on how quickly the outer layer of your skin exfoliates.
Eyebrow tattooing is very unique. There is no ‘stencil’ or ‘template fits all’ design. I will always listen to you and what you personally like and take into consideration your facial structure. A design on an 18 year old girls face won’t always suit the design for women who are middle-aged and vice versa! I believe a good cosmetic tattoo should go unnoticed! Your current eyebrow shape and direction of hair always comes into play when designing your new brow! The less maintenance the better.
